TEACHER TALK IN A BRITISH SITCOM: INSIGHTS FROM EMBODIED ACTIONS TO CLASSROOM INTERACTION COMPETENCE

Teacher talk is one of the essential elements through which learning opportunities for pupils are facilitated. Nevertheless, to best researchers’ knowledge, investigations regarding ways a native teacher illustrated in British Sitcom utilizes embodied actions that influence characterized as classroom interaction competence found be limited. Thus, present study aimed at unfolding concerning uses along with verbal language provide Sitcom. By utilizing conversation analysis approach, artifact, namely entitled Mind Your Language, was scrutinized. The findings revealed several involving gesture, facial expression, and gaze accompanying teacher's significantly facilitate mediate students’ learning. Also, skills systems constitute most frequently occurring mode whereas least context mode. Lastly, arrived conclusions use necessarily required its significant functions lead competence.
